SFRD011 Frank Solano – Spotted Now EP

Not-so newcomer Frank Solano comes to us with two gems for Soul Fuel’s 11th release. “Fidelyo” starts us off with a number that offers up a deep driving feel topped off with a moody vibe. Next up is “Get My Lovin’”, which is a slo-motion jam filled with warm vibes and perhaps some familiar vocal nuances. On remix duty we have, the by now familiar Organized Crime duo. They deliver an infectious tune that is very remniscient of a Mood II Swing track from the mid-90s.

Release Date: February 2nd, 2010

Holly Carp, Atlanta was amazing!

Well now that we’re back from Atlanta and halfway recovered. We’d like to thank everyone in the dirty for such an awesome time! Shouts to Mike Zarin, DJC (Baby Gap!), Kevin Nowell, Sommer, Cass, Val, and many many more who made the trip such a wonderful time.

After arriving Thursday afternoon, we quickly conquered some Fat Matt’s BBQ and went off to our gig @ Lava (www.cosmolava.com). The people there were very fun and they got down lower than the subflooring of the place. Needless to say…it was a blur.  Friday we all drove up to La Fayette and into the mountains for the Synchronicity festival. Upon hearing that everyone before us canceled their time slots, the four of us (Kevin, DJ, Jonn, and myself) were delighted to hear that we had nearly 5 hours to wreck shop. What an interesting night that was…Ravers thought I (Marcus) was attached to the ceiling of the tarp (hugs…not drugs, kids). It downpoured for nearly an hour, which actually was probably the best thing that happened to us. It cut the heat and humidity, got people under the shelter where we were playing, and the harder it rained the more they got into it. Not only were we all having fun being “synchronized” with nature and our surroundings, we all got a chance to kick it with our old friends Halo (www.citydeepmusic.com) & the East Coast Boogiemen. Was great to kick it with you guys by the way!

After a day of recovery from Thursday & Friday (trust me we all needed it), we headed up to the 16th floor of the W Hotel in downtown Atlanta to play Elevate, a rooftop pool party. This has got to be the best venue I have seen for a day party to date. I don’t care what any of you say. No really, I don’t. Halo showed up once again and absolutely crushed it after Jonn & myself had gotten done warming the party up for him (either that or the bloody mary’s helped but I’d like to think it was us).

After all that maddness it was time to head back to gloomy Milwaukee (it was when we got here), but a fantastic time was had. Once again thanks to the ATL crew for showing us what southern hospitality is really about!
